We joined Norman for a day in an undisclosed location with photographer Brian Bowen Smith and videographer Branden Smith. We followed Norman on one his favorite bikes from his collection as he shared insight to how he feels when he's riding.
Milo Ventimiglia was game for anything so fun to work with. photos by Sheryl Nields and video by Travis Shinn. We worked in an LA based studio for the day and fully enjoyed Milos company. He shared how he started riding and what it's like to ride in LA. At the time he was set to start shooting Evel Knievel in a few weeks (pre covid). Random note - Sheryl the photographers father RC Nields used to shoot Evel and his stunts.
I met up with Sarah at the Pink hotel for an evening shoot. She was amazing to work with, she brought so much life to the set with her vibrant energy. The girl is fire! Shot by Adam Secore and by video by Ali Maister
Erin Wasson is a power house and an iconic beauty. Shot in a NY studio she showed up ready to kill it. She brought full fire to the set. Shot by Adam Secore and BTS video Patrick Pearse.
Ryan Bingham is a mood! His vibe matches his music, Laid back and Uber cool. Adding the interview aspect to the video allowed even more insight to Ryans over all vibe. I had a very clear vision for the lighting I was going for and photographer Nick Fancher didn't let me down. he hit it right on point. He shot both picts and motion for this shoot and rocked it.
This is one of my favorite women's shoots. Shot by one of my favorite People Lindsey Childs. She understood what I was going for from the start. I wanted an editorial on a ranch that felt like she was free and in control of her destiny. Charlbi the model was a perfect fit feminine, sexy, and strong. The iconic Beauty Kelly Lebrock welcomed us onto her hidden property for a day of fun. She was an incredible Host !
Nick was nothing but fun! his energy filled the room. He welcomed us into his studio and shared that he was headed to Paris for fashion week because his hats where on the run way. We followed him for a a full day starting with his 6am surf routine then off to visiting his dome house he was building in the LA canyons , to a ride down PCH. We ended with him getting a new tattoo! Shot by Lindsey Childs
Working with Dean Bradshaw again shows why he's always the first call when you want authenticity. I wanted another editorial that would be authentic to the riding community. We followed Todd Blublagh and Snake for a 3 day ride out to Big Sur on their Vintage Harleys. They rode, fished, camped, and shot the shit. does not get more authentic than these two who have been riding together for years.
I was invited to spend the day out on Carey Hart and Pinks hidden property in Northern California. He has his own dirt bike track which he ripped through like the pro he is. He shared what he stands for and supports in his interview and we can see why he's such an icon in his industry. Sponsored by Indian he had an amazing collection of bikes in his shop. I was honored to spend the day with him in his very private paradise. shot by Jonas Jungblut.
Another one of my favorite photographers Dean Bradshaw. We connected with badasses Ethan White and Brandon Kruger for this wild ride through the iconic Joshua Tree. I wanted total authenticity for this editorial spread. Biting off the film Easyriders I wanted the full experience of freedom, living slightly off the grid, following your passions and the power of camaraderie. We used the Captan and Bille bikes that kept breaking down but we randomly bumped into another rider and part of the crew Todd Blueblaugh. He was kind enough to load up the Captan and drag it to his home/shop out in the desert he had us back up and running in no time. Saved the shoot! Thanks Todd!
As Creative director for Easyriders I wanted to bring in local artisans that are also part of the riding community. I was drawn to Imogen "The Great Frog" for her iconic and authentic Jewelry. She was a "Gem" to shoot.
Met up with the photographer Drew Martin and his amazing wife for a two day escape up into the Idyllwild mountains. The crew was a blast to work with and the house we stayed in was right out of a story book. Great little escape from the desert heat below.
Janelle Kaz also known as Moto gypsy really peaked my interest when I found out she rides around Ecuadors Jaguar territory on her Indian scout sixty she named "Onca". I was drawn to her fearlessness as she navigates through rough territory totally alone in search of helping out endangered species. Her bike was never meant for this terrain but yet she has made adjustments to make it work for her adventures. We followed her into the steep terrain to see her release the first Great Green Macaws that were hatched in captivity to help the birds from going totally extinct. Shot by Frederic Lagrange.
This sister, brother duos music is soulful and full of rhythm. Learning their love for music was passed down from their Mother and their love of bikes came at a young age through their father. Natalies first ride was on the back of her Dads bike to school. Both Brother and Sister were hooked and still avidly ride to this day. Shot by Damion Malony
Another jaunt across the pond to visit Stefano Martinelli in the beautiful Bergamo Italy. During the day PDF is a garage but after hours it becomes a pub. They seamlessly merge into one another allowing for a truly authentic experience.
This video was shot in tangent with our original video in Joshua Tree. It's a different take which includes drone shots. Shot by Adam Martinez.
Brian Buttera of Butteras Metal Werx is well known in the industry for his builds. He shared his 1955 Harley Davidson Panhead build with us. His favorite touch on the Panhead is the handmade, offset, 10-spoke, nickel plated mag wheels. Shot by Gillis Uzan
Another thing I wanted as creative director for Easyriders was to shed light on the female side of builders and riders. Suzy is one of my favorite builders. She brings style and fashion into her builds. Her Hexaglide 1977 Harley-Davidson Shovelhead 74ci with a modified Billy Gruke frame from the '70s and house fabricated wheels won her the 2019 Born Free builders event. Shot by Mathew Scott
Chris Richardson owner of La Speed Shop and House Of Machines shared one of his builds I personally requested. I loved this bike form the moment I saw it. He took his 1947 Knuckle and rebuilt it from scratch for Sailor Jerry. Printed with Tattoo Flash its a one of kind. Lets hope he doesn't rip it apart again! BTW hes also one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. Shot by Fab Fernandiz.
Auto Fabrica located in the United Kingdom was far from home but I believe it's important to shed light on the whole global community. So we reached out to brothers Bujar and Gazmend Muharremi for a visit to their factory. They shared their Type 11 prototype 3 built for Yamaha. It's a beautiful piece of art and the name is an homage to Bugatti's historical naming conventions. Shot by Simon Winnall.
